Many research groups have their own compute node(s). Most of these are running RedHat Enterprise Linux 9, which is slightly different that the Fedora operating system we have on the desktops, so users should probably recompile and optimize their code for that OS separately!) Users should get information on which nodes to use from their group (superviser, co-workers). Most of these compute nodes are only reachable from within our own institute (from a Linux desktop, SSH through a gateway, or VPN).
There are a couple of compute nodes for general use. Access from our own networks only.
Hostnames are: maas
, waal
, ijssel
.
Apart from dedicated nodes in ALICE (see below), the instituut has 3 compute nodes for general use, reachable by ssh from within the instituut (or IL vpn).
Hostnames are rembrandt
, hals
and dou
.
Users can apply for an account at the Leiden Univertsity cluster called ALICE
. We (the strw/lion computergroup) do not run that facility, but we can provide some help for scientific software. Software setup is similar to the easybuild
environment we have at our institutes.
