XPRA is an alternative to remote access tools such as VNC and X2GO. Like these tools, and like the commandline tool screen, XPRA can be used to detach from the remotely running applications, allowing to re-attach later from the same or another XPRA client.

XPRA can be used to start an entire desktop, but also to run a single application, integrating into the local desktop environment.
