Video Conferencing from the Desktop

There are multiple desktop clients available that allow you to connect to a remote Video Conferencing unit or connect into a multi-point meeting.

Not Skype

Note that Video Conferencing is not Skype calling. Although it is possible to setup a Skype Video Conferencing meeting, it requires a Skype Business contract to enable this functionality and does not connect to the VC units we have available. Skype uses its own proprietary communication protocols that do not match the standard VC protocols.

Linux

For the Linux desktop there are a few public domain packages available:

  • ekiga
  • starleaf breeze
  • WebEx
  • Zoom

Windows
